Hospital
Sky is having a major panic wondering what if when Karl and Dr Olenski come in. Harold is a bit surprised to hear the result of their chat - they are going to try and stop Sky's labour and Olenski hands Sky some tablets to take. Karl tells Sky that the medication should take effect quickly especially if she stays relaxed!
Out in the corridor, Olenski tells Karl that the maternity ward is full and that Sky will need to remain where she is and asks Karl to contact paediatric ICU.
Outside
Stinger wonders aimlessly around with a bottle in his hand before finally collapsing. He gets out his mobile and notices he has a voicemail message - it's from Sky wanting to see him following the dream and adds that she thinks he is going to make a great father.
As Brooke Fraser starts up, Stinger reaches for his bottle but stops himself from opening it.
Hospital
Loris arrives to tell Janelle there is no sign of Stinger and Janelle takes the opportunity to compare him to his dad. Harold comes out to tell them the latest news on Sky (the drugs are working) while Karl examines her before asking them to hold the fort while he goes home to freshen up.
No. 30
Rosie is updating her journal about her feelings/fantasies for Will when speak of the devil and her sister noisily enter the kitchen, so she quickly hides it and goes back to working. Will suggests that Carmella plans their date tonight before leaving to go walk Bob. With him away, Carmella begs her sister for help, which surprise Rosie give how many blokes she's been out with before she turns on the charm to get Rosie to help.
Hospital
Karl finishes checking Sky over, and tells her she's doing good, before leaving and running into the returned Harold in the corridor. He is a bit non-committal whether the drugs are working or not given Sky is still having small regular contractions, and also mentions that the baby's heart-rate is a bit higher than he'd ideally like.
Harold enters the room and Sky just about doubles over when she gets a contraction and he tells her to let the medicine work. Sky wishes that her mum was here but Harold replies that she'll just have to put up with second best, then leans down and kisses her fondly on her forehead and says he isn't going anywhere!
Taking a seat, he tells his granddaughter that he isn't going anywhere before adding that he has been thinking a lot about Kerry lately and agrees with Sky that she is around and would like to think that she is proud of Sky, of the choices she has made and the strength she is showing.
Sky suddenly sits up and tells him that she thinks her waters have just broke and he leaves to go get Karl, telling her not to worry.
Out in the corridor, he finds Karl and tells him (and the returned Loris and Janelle) about Sky. Karl in turn, tells the nurse on duty to page Olenski and contact paediatric ICU because the prem birth is happening before going into see Sky.
KARL: No stopping it now, you're going to have a baby.
No. 30
Carmella is coming up with possible suggestions for her date but Rosie knocks them back before telling Carmella what she should be aiming for.
CARMELLA: I'll take him to Italy.
ROSIE: Who's paying, the Pope?
Turns out she is planning on making an Italian meal for him but Rosie points out to her that she can't cook. Carmella then successfully begs her sister to cook a meal, just as Will returns, and she teases him about what is in store for him.
Hospital
Harold leaves Sky's room to fetch something for her and we hear Sky scream from the room. Loris and Janelle reminisce about their pregnancies before Harold returns with what he bought (a wheat bag). The ladies laugh at him when he shows them the wheat bag to help Sky with the pain.
JANELLE: Unless you're about to say epidural it's bull.
HAROLD: She is determined to have a natural birth.
JANELLE: (smirking) Of course she is.
Harold opens the door to hear Sky scream again and wisely decides to close it and Loris makes herself scarce.
In the room, Olenski tells Sky she is doing well and Karl backs her up by saying the baby, although small, is as strong as an ox but she thinks he is lying to her. Sky then grimaces with another contraction as Harold returns and offers her the wheat bag he bought. She politely tells him where he can put it and throws it out into the corridor past a ducking Janelle, who wisely decides not to enter the room.
No. 30
We have a serious rival for the best body in No. 30 and think we have a new champion - Will .
Sorry back to the summary, topless Will is choosing a shirt when Rosie comes home and as she fills a pan with water to put on to boil (for the polenta), she talks to herself about what she'd like to do to Will (wishing she had the courage to walk up and kiss him but she'd die if he rejected her and then berates herself for having these thoughts when she is in her 20s). Sadly Will puts a shirt on before asking Rosie to tell him about herself.
"Nothing to tell," says shy Rosie before he starts asking questions about the pair of them and wondering if Rocco had to beat people away for having two beautiful daughters. She points out that it was Carmella who was the wild one while she studied, but he doesn't believe there isn't a story somewhere. "Next thing you'll be telling me is you've never had a boyfriend" and Rosie suddenly decides that is her cue to leave saying she's left a document at work. Will looks puzzled as hell as to what just happened.
Hospital
"Pain relief's kicked in nicely," Karl says to informs us as to why Sky is suddenly telling Harold that he is a legend and that both Olenski and Karl are super docs. Olenski leaves after telling Karl to contact her when Sky is 8cm dilated and Sky invites Loris and Janelle to the party when she spots them hovering at the door after Olenski leaves.
Janelle hands Sky back her wheat bag, wondering if it was aimed deliberately at her after how she has treated her lately. "What and knock out my chief babysitter?" replies Sky and Janelle apologises for her son but Sky doesn't want to talk about it because she wants to meet her baby before screaming with another contraction.
Ramsay Street
Rosie gets frustrated with Carmella over her instructions on how to cook the meal. Will spots Rosie in the car and asks for a lift to TSB once he's shut the front door. Carmella tells him she'll do it, so he gets in the car and they depart.
Carmella spots Teresa lurking in No. 24's driveway and calls out to her. Teresa starts running towards her and Carmella can't restrain her and next thing she is heading into No. 30.
No. 30
Teresa enters the house and is trapped in the kitchen by the locked back door. Carmella follows her in and notices that she has her orderly uniform on, which Teresa explains away as needing it so she can go to the hospital to save her baby. Carmella points out the obvious - she doesn't have a baby.
TERESA: I do, inside her.
After a few seconds, Carmella twigs that Teresa is referring to Sky.
CARMELLA: You're going to take Sky's baby from the hospital. Is that right?
TERESA: It's my baby.
CARMELLA: I can't let you do that.
She tells her cousin that she has to stop and from the outside we hear Carmella scream before seeing Teresa flee the house.
Hospital
Karl tells Susan about Sky almost being ready to deliver the baby before hanging up and asking that security are called because Stinger (with a teddy in his hand) has come into the ward. Restraining him, Karl says that he shouldn't be there and Stinger replies that he can't be stopped because he is the father. Karl however isn't letting him past, telling Stinger to go home and sober up but he eventually gets out of the doctors grip and starts calling out for Sky and wondering down the corridor.
Security finally arrive and start to escort him off the premises despite Stinger trying to tell Karl that it is his right but is told that it isn't his right until he sobers up.
Harold comes out to tell Karl that Sky is ready to push and both quickly go back into Sky's room...just as Teresa enters the ward.
In Sky's room, Olenski reassures Sky that she can do it when Sky says she doesn't have the energy. Finally it is Janelle who gives Sky her words of wisdom, saying that she is on the home stretch and soon enough she'll have the best feeling in the world - holding her own child.
With that advice, Sky pushes and Janelle offers her encouragement. Olenski then subtly remarks that there are too many people in the room and despite protesting that she is the grandma, Karl ushers Janelle and Loris out of the room. As they are walking out, Sky suddenly says that Stinger should be here and everyone just stares.
Teresa creeps into a doctor's office and starts scrunching up the paper from the files (so much for security!) into balls.
No. 24
Will walks up the stairs at No. 24 and knocks on the door, calling out "Carmella" and starts to think it is a joke when she doesn't answer the door. "Some surprise," he mutters as he heads back down the stairs looking quite despondent with flowers in one hand and a bottle in the other.
Hospital
Teresa frantically goes through the files, scrunching the paper up into balls before giving up and instead piling the files one on top of the other.
No. 30
Will comes home and enters the kitchen to find Bob doing his impression of Greyfriar's Bobby, lying beside Carmella as she lies on the floor with the pan Rosie had on boiling lying on the floor, emptied of its contents.
Hospital
Olenski gives Sky the good news that the baby is crowning when suddenly the fire alarm goes off. Harold wonders if it is a drill and Karl thinks it is probably just a false alarm but then the lights suddenly go out and Harold mentions that he can smell smoke. Sky is starting to panic now, given how close she is to delivering, and Olenski says there isn't time to move Sky because the baby is coming now. Karl volunteers to go find out what is happening.
No. 30
Will drags Carmella up into a sitting position, wanting to know what has happened and goes "oh god" while she says "Teresa".
Hospital
Karl enters the corridor to be told by Janelle that there is a fire (plus the tannoy is telling people to evacuate because it isn't a drill), so he tells her to evacuate the building like everyone else is doing. She spots where the smoke is coming from and Karl thanks her before telling her to leave.
Karl goes back into Sky's room and assures everyone that there is no danger but signals to Olenski to quickly get things moving. Olenski then reassures Sky that she can do this and one more push should do it and Sky psyches herself up to push.
Outside the hospital
We can see that the building is well alight and that flames are coming from the roof as we hear the emergency services arrive.
Inside the hospital
Back in Sky's room, everyone is giving Sky support to help her deliver the baby. While we see the fire engines roll up, the head has been delivered and Karl tells Sky that one more push will see the rest of the baby come out. Sky screams as she does that final push.
Outside the hospital
More fire trucks and police cars roll up to the hospital just as Janelle, Janae and Loris make their way out of the hospital. When they see the flames leaping from the roof of the hospital, they all hold hands but Janelle breaks loose, telling them not to let go and rushes back inside.
Janae and Loris are trying to stop Janelle entering the hospital but they are distracted by Will running up to the hospital carrying Carmella shouting "help".
Loris wants to know what happened to her (Carmella has half of her face covered with a cloth) and she and Janelle escort Will to where they can get a doctor, leaving Janae standing by herself. But she isn't alone for long as she spots Stinger heading into the hospital but he doesn't stop when she shouts "Stingray".
Inside the hospital
Back in Sky's room, we find out that Sky has given birth to a baby girl. Harold hugs Sky and kisses her while Sky repeats that she knew she was having a girl. Olenski and Karl finish tidying up the baby as we hear her cry for the first time. Karl lifts the baby up to show Sky (baby doesn't exactly look small ) before immediately passing the baby to Olenski so she can place the baby into an incubator despite Sky asking to hold her baby.
Harold spots whiffs of smoke coming/going under the bottom of the door and alerts Karl. They decide it is time to move Sky and she shouts out "Kerry" and Olenski cries out that she has Kerry as everyone makes their way into the corridor with PA telling everyone that this isn't a drill. As they make their way down the corridor, Sky spots Teresa but she runs off and Sky calls out to know where Kerry is. Harold tells her that she is with Dr Olenski but that everything is fine.
Commercial break over, Karl pushes Sky along a corridor into her new room (the fire was in the other wing) and gives her the good news - the baby has been checked over by the neo-natal unit and given the all-clear and is waiting for her in the new room. Karl stops the chair at the entrance to the room and Sky gets out starts to walk into the room and immediately sees that the crib is empty.
SKY: (quite calmly) Oh my god. Where's Kerry?
She then gets hysterical asking Karl where her baby is.
As the credits roll, there is a new name added - Kerry Mangel: Claudine Henningsen
