Aaron and David are loading their laptop in their back yard. They read the post-it note which simply tells them to check their email. They open a video from Mark. He's talking to the camera from his couch.
MARK: G'day. If you're watching this, it means that I've left Ramsay Street, as in for good.
Kyle watches the email on his phone from his garden.
MARK: I know its usually better to do this sort of thing in person, but the truth is, I don't trust myself to hold it together. But I couldn't leave without telling you all how much you mean to me.
Toadie watches the video with Nell and Hugo from their kitchen.
MARK: You were one of the first people I met when I was sent to Erinsborough. At the time I had no idea how important you would become in my life.
Paul watches from his living room.
MARK: If someone hadn't have pushed you off a balcony, I might have never become part of this community.
Roxy is in the #22 kitchen watching it on her phone.
MARK: You can party like its nobody's business and you don't need to change that for anyone, but also know that you are so much more.
Ned is sitting outside the Waterhole, watching the video on his phone.
MARK: We never really hit it off, and I reckon I know why. In a lot of ways, we're similar. We would do anything to protect the people we love.
Scarlett brings Ned a drink. Meanwhile Kyle is watching from his garden.
MARK: I wish you and Amy every happiness. Look after your gran, I'm sure she'll be looking after you.
To Paul.
MARK: And without you, I almost certainly would never have met Kate.
To Toadie, Nell and Hugo.
MARK: Despite our differences, we will always be connected through our memories, and Sonya.
To Roxy.
MARK: I am so sorry, that I made you doubt yourself, because you're amazing.
Paul watches from over Roxy's shoulder. Roxy smiles, telling Paul that he thinks she's amazing. Paul smiles. We then cut to Aaron and David watching Mark, who is starting to get teary.
MARK: I was never more proud than I was the day that you guys got married. You will always be my brothers, both of you, nothing will ever change that.
Elly, and Bea watch from their house.
MARK: Elly, we weren't meant to be, but that doesn't mean I don't treasure the time we had together. You are going to be a fantastic mother, and this baby is blessed to have you. Wherever life leads you, I wish you nothing but the best.
Elly and Bea cry as they watch. Elly tells her she can't let him leave like this, she has to find him.

As he leaves, Scarlett looks angry.

His mum needs him and Tyler needs him, and he needs them too.
ELLY: Just know I have nothing but love for you. I know that things didn't work out between us, but I still really care about you, what scares me the most is the thought of us becoming strangers.
MARK: I don't want that either.
Elly asks Mark to promise that if they see each other again in the future, that he won't look the other way. Mark promises.
ELLY: You mean too much to me Mark. Never stop chasing your dream of having a child. I know one day when you find the right person, you'll make an incredible father, and the baby will be so lucky to have you.
Mark notices that they're standing next to their love locket on the bridge. Mark wonders if in the future two young lovebirds will stumble across it and wonder who Elly and Mark were.
ELLY: Well if the history books say anything, I hope it says this. When we were good, we were good.
MARK: Yeah, we were.
