Number 24
Steph tries to run away but Ari catches her. He tells her to do what he tells her and everything will be alright.

(Cue titles)

Ari ties Steph up. Steph tries to reason with Ari, warning him that Mark will be home soon. Ari doesn't think he will as he heard them arguing earlier. Ari places the bag of snakes on the counter (well I assume it's a bag of snakes, it doesn't move but it makes a hissing sound.) Ari also knows that Mark's brothers won't be back as they're away training with that boxer girl. Ari lights a candle.

The Waterhole Exterior
Sonya tries to convince Mark to go home and talk to Steph. Mark can't believe he armed wrestled Ned in his condition, looking over to Ned who is with Elly. He tells Sonya about Ned two-timing Elly. Meanwhile Elly congratulates Gary on winning the pigeon race.

Number 26
Gary, Amy and Jack toast to Gary's win at the pigeon race. Gary feels sorry for his mum being left with the clean up, while Amy feels sorry for her dad as no one came to the opening of his restaurant. She says she's worried about him and wants to tell Steph about what happened. Jack tells her to leave it while Gary thinks Paul deserved it after what he did to his pigeons. Amy asks Jack if he's planning on going to the boxing match, he says he won't as it's a dangerous sport. He decides to go and lock up the church but can't find his keys. He leaves to find them.

Gary gets a call, one of the race official says there has been an issue with the testing. He has to take the bird to see him.

Church
Jack goes into his office and finds his bible open on his desk, with the following passage circled. 'I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers, he will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.' Jack looks around and realises his candles are missing.

Number 24
Steph looks at the bag of snakes. The room is filled with candles, while Ari looks like he is praying.

The Waterhole
Mark asks Ned if he's told Elly. Ned tells him that he was only saying goodbye to Regan, he isn't two timing anyone. Now he's trying to keep Elly out of this mess for her own safety. Mark tells Ned if he doesn't hang out with Regan or any of her mates then he'll forget about it. Elly arrives and asks if they're playing nice. Mark says yeah and goes to sit with Sonya.

Number 24
Steph looks at the hissing bag again, and tries to get out of her restraints.

The Waterhole
Sonya invites Mark to dinner. Mark checks his phone and sees he has a missed call from work but he says it's probably about his compo claim which got messed up because he was suspended. He says it isn't urgent but he'll call Steph.

Number 24
As the phone rings Steph tells Ari that it's from Mark and he'll be worried about her and will be on his way. Ari says it's time, and if she's innocent she won't have to worry. The serpent won't bite a good person. Steph thinks that's nonsense as snakes are wild animals. Ari says he's never been bitten because he has God on his side. Steph says Elly was bitten but she's done nothing wrong. Ari says the snake is the enemy of evil women.

STEPH: Are you serious, what, are you saying Elly's evil?

Steph says she'll die if she's bitten, but Ari thinks that's only if she fails the test.

The Waterhole
Elly is drinking a glass of wine while chatting to Ned. She thinks she should get a staff discount for holding up the bar. Elly saw him chatting to Mark earlier and she doesn't want them fighting over her, she thinks he should talk to Mark and tell him to back off.

NED: Why do you have to assume every conversation is about you?

Ned apologises, but it's too late as Elly leaves. Jack arrives, looking for his keys for the church, saying the keys to Blaze are on there too. Ned hasn't seen them. Jack asks if Mark is still here but he's gone home.

Number 30
As Sonya cooks, Mark wonders where Steph is. Her bags are here so she can't be too far away. Sonya says Nell is missing Charlie, he was almost like a big brother to her. Mark asks if she's thought of having more kids. Sonya says with Toadie it's a bit complicated now, Mark suggests alternatives like adoption. Sonya says they're so lucky to have had Nell in the first place. Mark tells Sonya that Steph's decided not to have more kids. He would love to have a baby, but they've got Charlie and he's really happy about it. Sonya asks if that's what he really wants or whether it's what he thinks he should want. Jack arrives to speak with Mark.

Number 24
Steph begs Ari to let her go. She won't say a word to anyone, he can be free and can start over. Ari unties Steph so she thanks him, but Ari gives her a stern look.

Number 30
Jack tells Mark about someone having his keys and having been in his office. He shows Mark the passage in the bible, and explains that it is about Eve and the serpent and God making women enemies with the snake. He thinks Ari would be into that. Sonya asks if there's any chance Ari would be out. Mark says only if there has been a massive bungle, but work would have called him. Mark gives a startled look as he realises.

The Waterhole
Ned texts Elly 'Are you ok? Text me.' Meanwhile Gary arrives carrying his pigeon in a box, and meets the race official, Dale. Dale explains that Lassiters failed the drugs test. Gary didn't even know doping was a thing with pigeon races. Dale says it could be a false positive so they should retest her now.

Number 24
Mark, Sonya and Jack race into the empty house. Mark calls the police and lets them know Steph has been taken.

Ari's car
As Ari drives, Steph is blindfolded in the passenger seat. She can feel the snake moving against her feet. Ari tells Steph to stay still. As they arrive at their destination, Steph refuses to get out, but with the threat of the snake she eventually follows Ari's instructions.

Number 28
Ned visits Elly and apologises for snapping before.

NED: I have to say that my last relationship was pretty toxic.
ELLY: What, the one I'm not allowed to know about?
NED: That would be the one yeah. It just felt like you were interrogating me.
ELLY: I asked you like one question.
NED: I like how things are going with us but you've got to give me some space sometimes. I'm sorry.

Elly admits that isn't the first time she's heard that, she's got a history of grilling partners and wanting to know where they've been and who they've been with. She'll try to stop. They're about to start kissing when Sonya runs in to ask if anyone has seen Steph or anyone suspicious hanging around. Steph could be in trouble.

Number 26
As Gary and Amy do the dishes, he tells her the test was positive on the pigeon, it could have been a painkiller. He's worried what Terese will say as it won't be good for business, but Amy suggests just to tell the truth. Gary suggests the pigeon's water was spiked.

AMY: If you are thinking of accusing dad, you'd better have proof. He gets blamed for everything.

Gary thinks Paul is the only one who had it against the pigeon and Terese. Amy thinks it doesn't add up that he would want to kill the pigeon and enhance its performance. Mark races in and asks if anyone has seen Steph. Gary says he saw someone leaving with Mark's car, he just assumed it was Steph but didn't pay much attention. As Amy asks what is going on, Mark leaves saying he'll explain later.

Blaze Outreach
Ari tells Steph about taking Jack's keys. Steph asks if Belinda would want Ari to do this. Steph tries to talk Ari around but it's too late. Ari opens the hissing bag.

Number 24 / Church
Sonya visits Jack to see if there's any news. She gets a call from Toadie, Sonya needs to go back to look after Nell so she leaves. Jack sees melted candle wax on the counter and grabs his phone. He calls Mark who is at the church. Jack says that if Ari has his keys then there is only one other place he could be.

Blaze Outreach
Ari brings the snake closer to Steph. When they let the snake go, they'll know the truth and he can tell Belinda what he's done for her. Steph begs him not to. Jack races into the room as we hear Steph scream.
