Ramsay Street
Sheila confronts Terese to see if it was her that took a bottle of chardonnay from the bar and almost hesitantly, Terese admits it was her but cites it was for hospitality reasons (a meeting she was holding). While Sheila is happy with the explanation, she asks why Terese didn't write it in the book so not to screw up the accounting and Terese apologises for not doing that, saying she was in a hurry but promises to be more obedient in future.
While Terese takes off for work, Sheila has a look in their recycle bin and finds it full of bottles! Brad of course catches her and she explains she was looking for jars to make jam. He's happy with her explanation and gives Sheila the go ahead to look in the bin and once he takes off for a jog, lifts the lid and picks up one of the many bottles.
Harold's Store
Paul joins Naomi and Daniel for breakfast and tells them about hiring Amy to be his EA. They are surprised at the choice given Amy's occupation but Naomi promises to give her any help she may need. Paul and Naomi then argue over whether Daniel should pursue Imogen or not since Casper is on the scene and he decides to follow Naomi's advice and pursue her.
The Waterhole
After being summoned by her mum, Naomi hears all about Terese stealing the wine. "So what," is Naomi's attitude and adds that Terese can take wine for company hospitality. She is also black affronted when Sheila says she went through their recycle bin! Naomi isn't really interested and tells her mum that she should use her powers for good things not evil.
Number 32
Lauren tells Imogen and Amber about the ceremony for Sheila as a way of trying to take Amber's mind off the forthcoming remainder of the amnio results (due tomorrow) before suggesting that the three of them should do something to try and distract Amber for longer.
Number 24
Aaron and Josh are rehearsing their routine when Russell arrives home and he doesn't seem too thrilled at what he sees and quickly makes a beeline to his room. Josh tries to talk to Aaron about it but he just wants to get back to working on the routine.
The Waterhole
When Paul joins her, Naomi rants off at Paul about not being on the short-list for the council job (Sue Parker's influence) but doesn't want him to get involved, preferring to do it herself.
Outside community centre
Naomi catches up with Sue to discuss her not being on the short-list for the job. Sue explains it's due to her being in a relationship with the Mayor and thus being a conflict of interest. "It's not," Naomi tries to plead but its falling on deaf ears, Sue's mind isn't for changing.
The Waterhole
Nate arrives to meet Sheila as requested and she says it doesn't matter now as the issue has been resolved and goes on to tell him about the wine being stolen by Terese. He confirms he's seen her take wine lots of times but didn't think anything of it and asks if he's done anything wrong. Sheila replies no, it's just a procedural thing and she'll sort it.
Russell enters the bar and Sheila turns on the charm while recommending what he should have from the specials.
Sheila then heads to the bar where Nate is and orders him to treat Russell as a VIP. He heads over to take his order and engages him in conversation about Aaron (Russell told him he just found out about Aaron being a dancer). Russell opens up to say that things haven't been the same since he found Aaron with a bloke and admits that he doesn't know how to relate to is son.
Lassiters Complex
Lauren's distraction method is having the three of them paint the lake/rotunda area of the complex although Imogen decides she's better at doing abstracts and thus turns her attempt into one!
Lassiters hotel (foyer)/Lift
Daniel exchanges pleasantries with Naomi/Paul as he exits the lift reading Imogen's favourite book (Anne of Green Gables).
Naomi reports to Paul that her own digging has confirmed that she can't get the job due to the conflict of interests and Paul suggests they'll change the regulations! He offers again to have a chat with Sue and this time she gives her permission for him to do that.
The Waterhole
Russell thanks Sheila for the lunch recommendation and she now tries to tempt him with something from the dessert menu.
Brad catches her in passing to ask how the jam making is goes and she replies she'll be making more on her next day off. Terese is puzzled as to why he was asking her about it, so he explains about catching Sheila looking in their recycling bin. Terese isn't amused at what she's done and glowers at Sheila before reaching for her wine glass.
Number 24
As Aaron gets ready for a gig, Nate mentions about meeting his dad and describes him as a "good bloke." Aaron isn't exactly confirming that and comments that Nate obviously gets on better with him after he also described his dad as being chatty. Nate explains that his dad thought he was talking to someone anonymous and asks Aaron for his version of events. Aaron tells him that he took off after they had a massive argument, adding that he won't forget the look on his dad's face... something Nate is probably familiar with. Nate doesn't reply to that part and asks if his dad was simply shocked?
NATE: It is a lot to take in.
AARON: Yes, he's had a long time to take it in but I saw the exact same look on his face this morning when he walked in on me and Josh rehearsing. He just hates the idea of having a gay son especially one who takes his clothes off for a living.
NATE: Or he doesn't know how to talk to you about it?
AARON: Well he could try instead of going off at me like he did!
Nate then suggests that on the impression Russell gave him, it could be because they've got nothing in common. Arron isn't amused at Nate talking to his dad, even though Nate tries to say it just came up.
AARON: Mate, my family is none of your business, so thanks for your interest mate but dad isn't changing his mind about me, so I'm not changing mine about him.
The Waterhole
"I don't appreciate my integrity being questioned," Terese greets Sheila with after she walks back into The Waterhole. Sheila tries to stick with the story about looking for jam jars but Terese isn't fooled and clarifies that in the future she'll write everything down in the book.
TERESE: I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed Sheila, I thought we had a good working relationship.
SHEILA: We do!
TERESE: We did!
In her rush to get out of the bar, Terese runs into Daniel and when he comments to Sheila about having run into her twice in the past couple of days, she asks him if Terese looked unsteady. He simply puts the clashes down to her being busy and this time it was more down to him not looking where he was going (he's still reading the book!)
Community Centre
Josh and Aaron strut their stuff in front of the invited guests, one of whom is Sue Parker who is giving it laldy as we say in Scotland! She is also very taken with one of them too!
The Waterhole
Naomi consoles Daniel who is in tears reading Anne of Green Gables as she enters the bar before going to speak to Paul. He reports he spoke to Sue but her mind isn't for changing... unless they split up! "That's ridiculous!" Naomi exclaims and Paul reassures her something will come up.
Sheila pulls her daughter aside to tell her her theory about Terese - every time she's in the bar for lunch she has a glass of wine, she's unsteady on her feet and a little bit clumsy like a tipsy person. "I guess that's not so good," Naomi replies after she's heard the evidence.
SHEILA: I've been in this game a long time and I know the signs. Terese has a drinking problem.
Number 24
Russell tries to engage Aaron in conversation when he gets home from his gig but gets one-word answers in response. Even Russell complimenting Aaron (that he appears to enjoy what he's doing) doesn't warrant a reply so he goes to take the sandwich he's just made into his room. Before he gets there though, Aaron calls on him if wants to have a beer while they watch the footy. "I'd like that," Russell replies.
Community centre
Josh is tidying up when Sue makes her presence known (she was setting the catering bill) and asks if she enjoyed the performance. "Yes, I loved it," Sue replies adding it was good to get a laugh and let her hair down, something she's not done a lot of lately and goes on to tell Josh about separating from Bill and her house feeling empty when Jayden stays over with him. "Do you ever get lonely?" she enquires and after Josh replies "sometimes," asks if he's not doing anything she'd like some company!
SUE: I can pay if that's an issue for you.
She hands Josh a business card and asks him to "think about it," before leaving the centre. Josh looks very stunned at what has just happened!
