Recap
Ty gives Rachel a bracelet; Rachel tells him that the music company want her.
Ty tells Rachel he loves her - she tells him he means a lot to her.
Ringo and Donna make up.
Lucas knows Steph wants Greg and encourages her to get in contact.
Steph phones Greg.
Veronica, Greg's wife, slaps Steph.
Steph dumps Greg's flowers, stating that men are all useless.
Number 32
Steph is staring at the flowers Greg has sent when Libby comes in and thanks her for looking after Susan yesterday. Steph tells Lib that she's ending the relationship with Greg, but... Libby interrupts and instructs her not to doubt herself just because Greg sends flowers. She's proud of her best friend.
Steph stares at her phone, wondering.
The Gym
Donna and Didge are talking about Karl being asleep in the bus stop the other night, and Donna thinks they should make a cake to help them feel better.
DECLAN: Yeah, because a Zeke shaped cake's gonna make everything better.
DONNA: (indignant) Cakes fix a lot of things.
The guys wonder if Zeke is still alive, but Declan doesn't want to talk about it. Didge says she's trying to give Rachel some space, and Donna suggests that Rachel still needs her friends at the moment.
Lucas and Dan are working out in the gym, when Ty comes in and starts throwing punches at the punch bag. Dan and Lucas exchange looks, approaching Ty, and asking him how Rachel's holding up. Ty gets vicious with the punching.
DAN: Are you guys alright?
TY: Apparently, I 'mean a lot' to her.
LUCAS and DAN: Oh..
LUCAS: You didn't...oh, you did. You gave her an EDL, didn't you? An Early Declaration of Love. Oh ho ho - that backfires worse than an HG Station Wagon.
DAN: *whistles*
LUCAS: Well, so I'm told. What you need to do, mate, is just back off and she'll come round.
DAN: She just lost her brother, you moron. She needs all the support and understanding she can get.
LUCAS: Dededdededede! Don't listen to Captain Cuddles over here!
Dan doesn't look happy. The cogs whirr in Lucas' mind.
LUCAS: OH! Oh, I like that...
DAN: No...
LUCAS: Captain Cuddles!
Dan walks off, Lucas following, and teasing him with the Captain Cuddles name. Ty punches harder.
Number 30
Toadie and Kelly are cuddled up on the sofa, and neither see Rachel walking in. She wants to know if Toadie has heard from Hamish about the photos, and ignores all questions about how the family are. Toadie agrees to call Hamish, as long as Rachel goes home to be with her family as she needs them right now.
Rachel leaves, and Toadie puts on a cap, sideways, to get into character and call a guy from the music industry. He asks if Hamish has received the photos.
TOADIE: You want her to WHAT?
Harold's Store
Steph comes in, all suited up, and sits with Libby, Rebecca and Miranda. She tells them that she's on the Breast Cancer Awareness Committee, and she's very pleased about it. Rebecca wishes Steph were still at Charlie's as she's not making half the money that Steph did. Miranda suggests an event to introduce the new management, and Steph thinks that a fundraiser for Breast Cancer would be good.
Harold overhears and suggests one for Prostate Cancer, too - they could do a joint fundraiser and split the cash. He even has an idea - the Salvation Army band could play! The girls aren't too sure about that, so say that they will put it on the list.
Lib suggests a fashion show, and Harry agrees to do the catering for it...before rushing off quickly. Steph explains it's a side effect of the chemo - needing to go to the loo all the time!
Steph rushes off to the board meeting.
Board Meeting
She arrives remarkably quickly into the next scene, and is sitting at the table when Sam walks in.
SAM: I'm representing Paul. He's a major contributor.
STEPH: For a breast cancer charity?
SAM: Got to say I didn't expect to see you here.
STEPH: I've had breast cancer.
SAM: Oh, I didn't know.
STEPH: Well, now you do.
Steph says this is her first meeting, and Sam wonders if she'll be nervous. Steph wasn't - until Veronica Olenski, Greg's wife, walks in and announces that she'll be chairing the meeting.
Number 30
Kelly cannot believe that the record company have said that Rachel needs to lose some kilos if she wants to be signed up. Toadie tries to say that it's more about her fitness, but Kelly isn't buying it. Kelly tells her boyfriend that he can't say anything to Rachel about it.
TOADIE: But then the deal's off!
KELLY: Good!
Kelly wants Toadie to call the company.
TOADIE: What if I lose the deal?
KELLY: You'd be looking after a friend.
Later at the house Rachel comes over - the record company called her calling off the deal. Toadie suggests that this is just a first offer, but Rachel is having none of it. She's sick and tired of people telling her what to do, so Toadie lets her know that the record company wanted her to lose weight.
Rachel storms out to call Hamish.
TOADIE: Just let me handle it Rachel!
KELLY: Give 'em hell, girl!
Erinsborough Hospital
Sam is following Steph, wondering why she was so quiet at the meeting. Veronica also walks past and thinks that perhaps Steph is trying to soothe her conscience by doing charity work.
VERONICA: It's not enough to break up my marriage, you also have to undermine me in my workplace?
Sam is delighted - she hadn't picked Steph for a homewrecker. Steph tells Sam to butt out.
SAM: Oh, please! When I think of what you dished out to me about Dan and Libby...the threats you made? What a hypocrite.
Harold's Store
Ty and Lucas sit at a table.
LUCAS: Hope you're being strong, mate, and held back from any tempting text messages.
TY: I'm not going to avoid Rachel. She needs me.
LUCAS: (very amused) Not as much as you need her. Apparently.
Ty's not amused, and thinks that Lucas is hardly an expert - he doesn't see Elle hanging off his arm.
LUCAS: Elle and I are like steak and cheesecake, you know? Individually delicious, but just don't mix.
At another table Steph is relaying the Veronica showdown to Libby, and thinks she has to resign from the committee. Libby doesn't think it's a good idea, but then Sam walks in and Steph tells her best friend that she was there, too, and couldn't resist making her own comments on the situation.
Libby wonders if they liked the idea of the fashion show, and tells her friend to think long and hard before quitting. Steph tells Lucas she's off to work, and she's sorry she's late.
Lassiter's
Outside the store, Lucas and Steph are walking to work, and Steph is cross that he made her call Greg back! She never wanted to be the other woman, and she's walking away.
LUCAS: You call him! You don't call him! You go over there...
Miranda interrupts - a skate company could donate some prizes for the fundraiser to get the young people in. Steph likes the idea, but is too distracted to really listen, and she walks off.
Greg appears from nowhere and follows her - he's staying at Lassiter's until he can find another place, and he wants her to know that in case she needs to talk to him. He takes her hands - just as Veronica comes over to witness it. Funny...in the four or so years that she's been in the show, we've only ever seen her at the hospital, and now she's appearing everywhere. Veronica asks to borrow her husband to talk about the divorce settlement.
Number 28
Donna is over chatting to Rachel, clearly with the aim of cheering her up. Rachel wonders if Donna thought she was fat in the photos Hamish had done.
DONNA: Massive. Like a sea-lion. Shut up, Rachel, you're not fat!
RACHEL: That's not what the record company guy thinks.
DONNA: Then he's an idiot. You're skinny as.
RACHEL: He was really nice about it, though. I don't really feel as if I'm in a position to be...
DONNA: Throwing your weight around? *pause* I crack myself up!
Donna offers Rachel some ice cream.
RACHEL: No thanks.
DONNA: You know, if you eat if really fast, the calories don't have time to hold on. You're such a serious young insect today. Ice cream is the perfect cure for that. Have you ever seen anyone eat ice cream with their serious face on?
RACHEL: I haven't really noticed.
DONNA: Well there you go. Paying attention is how you learn things young lady.
Rachel smiles. Donna says if Rachel can't see how good she is at singing, then she probably shouldn't take the deal.
DONNA: You know what I think you need? A care-vention.
They eat ice cream together. Aw. Cute.
Charlie's
Steve and Dan banter at the bar about Dan losing weight before the wedding, and Steve thought it was the bride who was meant to worry about such things. Rachel comes in, and Lib - sitting at a table - tells her she saw the photos. She thinks Rachel looked great. Dan suggests that if Rachel wants to keep busy she could help them with the wedding planning. Rachel would love to, but has to see Ty.
She approaches Ty at the bar, and asks him if he can help her with a programme for the gym to tone up and keep fit. He agrees, but doesn't sound thrilled...he's still miffed at the earlier rejection.
Carpenter's Garage
Steph is angry, and takes it out on a spanner. Lucas stares at her. Toadie arrives with Charlie who apparently has a tummy ache - he collected him from nursery for her. Steph says that Charlie's been trying it on recently when he wants to come home, and is annoyed as now he'll have to stay with her at the garage.
Lucas is not pleased, and points out that it's against regulations for a child to be there.
STEPH: Just wait til you have kids and someone tells you they're not welcome.
Er, hardly the point.
Number 28
In Rachel's bedroom, Dan comes in to get the wedding folder. He asks her how she's been, and says he's worried for her. He tells her he's her friend - nearly family - not a counsellor.
Rachel starts to tell him that it feels like her family has been falling apart, but Dan's phone rings and he has to take it. Rachel walks off and says she doesn't want to talk about it anymore.
Carpenter's Garage
Steph is fixing a car, and Charlie is helping when Greg arrives to see her. Steph sends Charlie in to see Lucas, but he doesn't want to go, so she bribes him by saying that Lucas has a treat on his desk. Oh - way to go, Steph. Disciplining an obedient child through bribery when you know damn well he won't get a treat.
Greg talks to Steph and says he knows she can't see him anymore, but he'd like to kiss her goodbye. Ew. Is this guy creepier than Martin?! Just as they go to kiss, there is a HUGE crash, and Charlie cries. He's trapped under a big metal shelving system.
Greg and Lucas fight to get him out whilst Steph calls the paramedics, frantically screaming.
