Recap
- Toadie asking Dee out for dinner, and Dee saying yes with a huge grin on her face.
- Sindi in the pub with Darcy, telling him to say goodbye to Penny for her.
Lou's Place
Darcy and Penny are standing at the bar. Penny tells Darcy that Sindi has an enormous crush on him. She tells him that if she tries anything on, that he must promise that he will tell her, as she is paranoid and bitchy.
Darcy tells Penny, that she has nothing to worry about, as she is a thousand times more beautiful, more interesting, more everything than Sindi.
Penny says that she has no idea why she is being so stupid as she knows that she can trust him. They hug as the camera focuses on the shifty look on Darcy's face.
Number 30
Stu answers the door to Steph.
STU: Jeez I haven't seen you for all of TWENTY minutes.
Steph says that she is there to see Dee, and when she hears that she is not there, she asks Stu to tell her that she (Steph will be at Libby's.
Stu asks her to come in and hang out with him, she awkwardly agrees, and as she sits on the edge of the sofa, she tells him that he is a good mate, and it's been really good hanging out with him....as friends.
Steph asks if he has found anything job wise. He says that he hasn't, that Drew has offered him a job, but he wants to do something where he is helping someone, maybe she should have suggested joining the police force, I'm sure missing out the entire Life Mechanic's storyline would not have upset anyone.
Dee arives home, and Steph asks how the date went. Dee tells her that it didn't even happen as she had to stay at home. She tells Steph that after some initial misunderstanding TOadie too it well. Steph tells her that he had gone to a lot of trouble, and Dee looks upset.
Stu comes in and asks Dee if she wants to go with him to meet Ray for a drink.
Steph tells Stu that Dee will be busy pulling out all the stops. As Dee looks on with a huge grin on her face.
Veterinary Surgery
Harold, Boyd and Cecile, have brought Roxy the fox to be treated.
The vet reprimands them for not bringing the fox in sooner, that as a wild animal, a fox is a very bad choice of pet, foxes can carry all sorts of diseases and they should not have kept her so long. As the three of them go to the waiting room to wait for the vet's examination, Harold gives Cecile and Boyd a dressing down for their irresponsibilty. He tells them how disappointed he is them for lying to him. They look ashamed of themselves as they go into the waiting room to wait for the examination.
Outside at Lou's Place
Steph is sitting at a table with her boss Patrick. He tells her that the company is going through a process of restructuring, and Steph worries that her job is on the line.
Patrick tells her not to worry, that her job is safe, and as of tomorrow she will be working in the office full time, with a look of disappointment on her face, Steph tells him that she will see him tomorrow.
Veterinary Surgery
The Vet sits down with Boyd, Cecile and Harold. He tells them that Roxy is suffering from acute distress due to living in such confined circumstances. He tells them that as foxes are vermin, and cause problems to farmers and to wildlife he won't be able to release her. As Boyd and Cecile stare at the Vet with distressed looks he tells them that the best course of action would be to put her down. Boyd cheekily asks for a second opinion.
Harold tells Boyd and Cecile to come and talk about it outside, but they refuse to leave the surgery until they know that Roxy is OK. They look on indignantly, as Harold asks the vet if he is sure that there is nothing that he can do.
Coffee Shop
Penny notices that Sindi has dropped a receipt and bends down to pick it up. What she realises is that Darcy paid for the shoes that Sindi had told her were from a secret admirer. Sindi firstly tries to grab the reciept, and then tells Penny that it's not what she thinks.
She tells Penny that Darcy has been chasing her all along, and that when she first received the shoes they were from a secret admirer as she had no idea who they were from, and it was not until later that she discovered that they were from Darcy.
She tells Penny that she demanded that Darcy gave her the reciept so that she could return them, but as Penny looks at the ground she notices that Sindi is still wearing the shoes, and tearfully storms off in retreat to the kitchen.
Lassiter's Lake
Toadie is teaching Bob some new tricks which he thinks will impress Dee.
Darcy jogs by, and tells Toadie that he is getting in shape for Penny. He tells Toadie that it's true love with he and Penny, and Toadie looks impressed that he is not even wincing.
Number 30
Dee answers the door to Ray, as she tells him that Stu isn't ready yet, he follows her into the kitchen. He sees that she is preparing a romantic dinner and he asks who the lucky fellow is.
She tells him that it's Toadie.
DEE: You don't sound surprised
Ray: Well I always knew that he was keen on you, but I thought that you would have gone for someone with a bit more dash
DEE: I prefer decency to dash, and Toadie has more decency in his little finger....lets just say that he is one of the rare ones
Ray goes on to ask Dee to accompany him and Stu to the pub for a drink, but she declines, he tells her that they will have plenty of time to catch up, as he is now working as a chef at the hospital.
The phone rings.
Dee answers it to hear that Toadie is at the vets with Bob, who has swallowed something, and there is a possibility that he is going to need his stomach pumped. Toadie tells Dee that he may be a couple of hours.
Dee asks Toadie if this is a payback for last night, but he assures her that it is not, and she tells him to make sure he brings Bob back in one piece, and with a look of disappointmet on her face hangs up.
Vets Surgery
The Vet greets Harold, Boyd and Cecile asking them if they want the good news or the good news. The vet tells a delighted trio that Roxy has been granted Clemency, he has found a petting zoo who have been convinced to take her on. The victorious three go into the treatment room to say goodbye and good luck to the fox.
Lou's Place
As Stu and Ray play pool, Stu tells Ray that his nose is out of joint because Dee is seeing Toadie instead of him.
Ray defiantly tells him that it's not, and that if he wanted Dee then he could get her in a second. Ray asks him to bet a hundred bucks on it.
MOCO
Patrick is telling Steph that the company feel that she is wasted on deliveries, she doesn't want to work in the office. Steph then realises that she is getting a so called promotion based on her looks, she tells Patrick that she thinks that the decision is disgusting, and if that is the way of the future of MOCO then she quits.
Veterinary Surgery
Toadie is impatiently pacing the room, waiting for nature to take it's course with BOb, he is missing valuable time with Dee.
Lou's Place
Penny meets Darcy at the bar, and he tells her that he has some news that will cheer her up, he has arranged their holiday, and they will be off as soon as they finish the investigation.
Penny seems off with Darcy, and as he proposes a toast to their holiday she says that she loves Sindi's new shoes, and asks Darcy if he knows the ones. He says that he doesn't, and with that she gets up and leaves him telling him that she is meeting a friend for dinner. Darcy looks put out, with no idea what is going on.
Stu and Ray are still playing pool, Stu accepts a job at the hospital with Ray. At that point Steph runs in to exitedley tell Stu that she has quit her job, and it is all thanks to what they were talking about earlier. Stu tells Steph that he has accepted a new job becuase of what they were talking about earlier, and tells her that he is going to be working at the hospital with Ray. Steph looks baffled and unsure if Stu is making the right decision.
Number 30
Toadie and Bob finally arrive home, to tell tell Dee that he is late but not empty handed, and produces a take out pizza.
As the sit on the sofa and eat the pizza they talk about arranging a date.
TOADIE: So another date blown out of the water.
DEE: Do you kinda get the feeling that maybe this isn't supposed to happen that the gods are working against us?
As they try to arrange an alternative date, they can't come up with one, and decide to have an impromtu date straight away. *wub*
Toadie says that he has a present for Dee Just becuase and produces a brooch.
Lou's Place
As Steph realises what she has done giving up her job she looks slightly depresses, and Stu says that she could always ask for it back. She says that it's not an option, and asks if there are any more jobs going at the hospital.
Number 30
Toadie and Dee are having a pillow fight and chasing each other around the lounge, how sweet. Toadie pins Dee to the couch, and she knees him in the groin winning their pay fight. As she apologises, they both sit on the couch there is a strained silence followed by some awkward conversation. They remark that it is a little strange, and who would have thought it, but as they catch each others eye, they look at each other lovingly and eventually (FINALLY) share a tender kiss, as millions of viewers cheer as the credits roll.
