Mal and Libby are bickering and Billy tells them off. He insists he's not the reason that Karl and Susan are fighting. Libby agrees - Karl and Susan are not communicating. Libby suggests a family meeting.

Coffee Shop
Reuben is telling Bianca and Sam that they did a great job on his garden. Bianca is so pleased that her life has turned around with the help of Marlene and Sam. Aw.

Newsagent
Susan comes in for a paper and chocolate. Phil suggests he gets Libby to look after the shop, while they have a drink at Chez Chez.

The Pub
Phil and Susan are having a chat. Phil says the baby thing is probably a passing phase for Karl. Susan is still bitter about Karl wanting her to have a child and look after it. Susan thanks Phil for being a good friend to her.

No.24
Cody is missing Rick like crazy and is commiserating with Sam. They have a beer together. Sam shows Cody his necklace that Annalise sent from the Whitsundays. They drink to long-distance relationships. They make a pact to cheer each other up when they get fed up. They decide to become "a platonic partnership"!

Kennedys
Billy is hoovering and has also washed the kitchen floor. Karl is very surprised - he wants to know what Billy has done. Billy admits that he does want something - for Karl and Susan to be happy. Karl reassures Billy that he's not the reason why he wants another baby.

Billy asks Karl why he does want another baby. Karl says they're both still young. Karl says he doesn't want to stay home and look after the child - he's better going out earning money. Billy says it doesn't seem fair that Susan would have to give up her whole life, just to keep Karl happy.

BILLY: Is that fair?

Coffee Shop
Mal is drawing some caricatures. The one of Karl in particular is very good. Danni comes in to take Mal's measurements - she's making him a suit. Mal admits to Susan that they're an item. Susan says a suit is a good idea - it's got to be better than what Mal wears now(!) She gives Danni her credit card so she can shop for Mal(!) (Are you mad, woman?!)

Bianca comes in and tells Cody and Sam that she's passed the first stage of her college interview, but now she has to write a 1,000 words essay about why she wants to do the course!

Kennedys
A family meeting is taking place. Libby is the chairperson. Susan and Karl start bickering about the baby again. Mal says he's had enough of them and storms out. Libby tells them off for not talking. She and Billy storm off to their rooms.

Then Susan gets up and leaves Karl alone at the table.

Martins
Phil is telling Cody that he's worried about Karl and Susan. Cody says they should stay out of it.

Sam comes in to pick up Phil for his run. They'll start with 2 kms.

No.30
Ren has got the suit Danni designed and it looks pretty good. Danni has bought a load of stuff for Mal. Mal says Susan will kill Danni when she gets the credit card bill.

Kennedys
Susan is marking when Karl comes in. The house is quiet - everyone else is out. Karl tells Susan that he doesn't nat to keep fighting - he wants to call a time out. He says they could just think about it for a few days. He says if they can't come to a decision, maybe they could see a counsellor or something. Karl assures Susan he's in love with her.

KARL: Whatever happens, our marriage comes first. Nothing's worth throwing that away for.
SUSAN: You don't know how relieved I am to hear you say that.

Mal comes in and sees them kissing. He shows them his new clothes. Susan is impressed until she sees that it cost $299.

MAL: It was Australian-made and by a top designer.
SUSAN: I don't care if it was made on Mars by little green men - take it back!

Mal explains that it was on sale and they don't do refunds. Susan looks in horror through the rest of his purchases.

KARL: You'll be the best-dressed dishwasher in town!

Ramsay Street, the following morning
Phil gives Susan a birthday card, and also a magazine for Karl about relationships(!)

Kennedys
When Susan comes in, the kids and Karl throw streamers over her and wish her a happy birthday. Then Karl unveils the portrait. Susan is stunned - she loves the portrait. Billy gives Susan a pooper-scooper than he made in metal class(!) She could use it to clean up after Cassie, or Mal(!) Libby and Mal give her presents too. Susan thanks them all for being such a great family. Mal leaves then to go and see Danni.

Karl finds the Relationships magazine from Phil. He's not pleased. It rather spoils the mood. Karl says he doesn't want anyone else gossipng about their business.

Lou and Cheryl's
Mal tells Danni that Susan is mad about the cost of the clothes(!) Danni says that he does look like the sexiest man alive now though! (I wouldn't go that far!!)

Ramsay Street
Karl sees Phil coming back from his run. He is frosty with Phil when he offers Karl a shoulder. Karl tells Phil not to stick his beak in - it's none of his business.

KARL: To be frank, I think it's about time you stopped living your life through other people and got a life of your own.

Ouch.
