Number 24
Cheryl and Lou walk out of their bedroom and into the living room. Cheryl is upset and angry.
CHERYL: I knew it would happen sooner or later with Danni, but not like this! How could she?!
Cheryl yells for Danni to get into the living room. Brett hurriedly makes his excuses and leaves. Lou yells for Danni to get out too, but Cheryl tells him that Danni is her daughter, so she'll respond more to her talking to her. Lou wonders what Cheryl intends to do, but Cheryl doesn't know - she wasn't ready for this.
Danni comes out, still in her dressing gown and a fully dressed Michael follows her. Danni starts to speak, but Michael interrupts.
MICHAEL: Mrs Stark, I know this looks bad-
CHERYL: Michael, I really think it would be much better if you left.
MICHAEL: But I wasn't... We really care for each other-
LOU: GO HOME, MICHAEL!
Silently, Michael leaves.
CHERYL: I think it's time you and I had a little chat.
Danni looks down.
Ramsay Street - Driveway of Number 24
Michael is pulling his shoes on. Brett comes over and tells Michael that he tried to warn them - he was practically screaming.
BRETT: Maybe if we knew they were coming we could've worked out a signal or something.
MICHAEL: If we knew they were coming, do you think we would've been in there?
Michael is fuming with himself. He's annoyed that they were dumb enough to fall asleep and let themselves get caught.
BRETT: Maybe your girlfriend's house wasn't the smartest place to...you know.
MICHAEL: Like, where are we supposed to go? We'll probably be banned after all this anyway. Don't you just hate it?
BRETT: Yeah. There's nothing worse than being grounded. Gets pretty boring.
MICHAEL: No, not that. I mean, having to sneak around all the time. In a few years, we'll be able to go wherever we want, do whatever we want, whenever! Just because we still live with our parents, it's like sex doesn't exist.
Brett attempts to empathise with Michael, but unsurprisingly, doesn't sound too convincing. Michael glowers.
Number 24
Cheryl hands Danni a box of tissues and tells her everything is ok. Lou explodes and starts yelling about how Cheryl has been hurt(!) Cheryl suggests that Lou get some fresh air! Lou leaves.
CHERYL: All right, Danni, I'm not going to beat around the bush. What's done is done and seeing as you think you're ready for a sexual relationship, I just want to know that you have taken some precautions.
DANNI: You don't know anything! How do you know we even did it?!
CHERYL: Just answer the question - were you protected?
DANNI: Oh, I'm a lot more responsible than you think!
CHERYL: Oh really?(!) You could've fooled me! I don't think this is very mature behaviour, do you?
DANNI: Oh and you wanted us to wait until we were married, did you?! Well, you set a good example there!
Cheryl, very upset, tells Danni that's not what she meant and is angry that Danni is turning it back on her.
CHERYL: Look, it isn't the fact you slept with Michael, although I am having trouble dealing with that... It's the fact...you did it in my bed! As if you wanted to rub my nose in it! How do you think that makes me feel?
Cheryl rants that Danni has invaded her privacy, and she wouldn't appreciate it if it happened to her. Danni concedes the point.
Balcony - Number 24
Lou is outside, cooling down from the situation. He leans over the balcony, and spies Brett and Michael chatting on the driveway. He starts to make his way down the steps.
Ramsay Street - Driveway of Number 24
Brett and Michael are still talking.
BRETT: Have you ever been caught before?
MICHAEL: Not until now.
BRETT: Yeah, I've been pretty lucky myself.
Fortunately for Brett, Michael doesn't get chance to question this statement! Lou appears and yells for him to go home. He gets closer and tells Michael that Danni won't be out again today. Michael tries to talk to Lou, but Lou doesn't what to know.
LOU: This is no time to argue the toss, son.
MICHAEL: But you won't even let me explain.
LOU: Michael, go! Before I do something I regret.
Michael doesn't move, but glares at Lou.
BRETT: (to Michael) Mate...
MICHAEL: Yeah, yeah.
Michael stalks off. Lou tells Brett that he's not impressed with his behaviour either. Brett isn't happy - he didn't do anything! Lou berates him for keeping watch and trying to warn the pair that Cheryl and Lou were home.
LOU: Don't you kids have any sense of moral responsibility?
BRETT: They do care about each other.
LOU: And that makes it all right, does it?
BRETT: You can't really stop them, you know.
LOU: No?! Just watch us.
Whilst Lou was talking to Brett, he was pulling up some weeds. In his irritation, he accidentally pulls up a flower. Annoyed, he throws it to the ground and marches back towards the house.
Waterhole
Mark is playing darts with Katerina. He wins and it's Cody's turn to play. She calls for Rick, who's chatting up a girl at the bar.
CODY: Rick, are you playing or not?
MARK: I think he's playing but not with us.
Katerina wonders who the girl is. Cody says she doesn't know and doubts Rick knows either - or if he cares! Katerina, Mark and Cody decide to jack in the competition as it's not much go with only 3 of them playing.
Mark approaches Tiberio at the bar and passes his glass to him. Mark then turns to Rick and tells him that they're off. Rick asks the girl he's with if she goes to the Geiger Counter much - which she does.
RICK: Oh, uh, sorry, guys, this is um...
TRIXIE: Trixie.
RICK: Yes, that's it! Well done, well done. Trixie, Trixie, this is Mark, Cody and Katerina.
ALL: Hi.
RICK: (to the group) What's happening?
CODY: (pointedly) Good question.
Katerina suggests coffee and Mark suggests Number 30. Cody bails, saying she has homework to do. She leaves. Rick asks Trixie if she fancies going out or going back to his house for coffee. Trixie opts for coffee. They leave, enthusiastically. Mark and Katerina follow, looking a bit bemused by Rick's behaviour.
Number 24
Lou is astonished to hear that Cheryl didn't ground Danni. Cheryl says it's not that simple.
LOU: Sweetheart, you saw them. They were in our bed! He was even wearing my robe!
Cheryl points out that they can't stop them from being together, as they can't watch them 24 hours a day.
CHERYL: If they want to have a sexual relationship, they're going to have one.
Cheryl is upset that Danni's grown up so fast - she's still her baby. Lou puts his arm around her and tells her that it's ok to be angry. Cheryl says she isn't angry, but bursts into tears. Lou holds her.
Number 30
Mark walks into the living room and starts handing out coffee. He notices that Rick has got changed and Rick makes an unconvincing excuse - saying that he's heading over to Trixie's place to listen to a new CD that she's got.
MARK: (sceptically) Oh yeah?
TRIXIE: Yeah, it's fantastic.
They both leave in a hurry. Mark and Katerina burst into laughter once they've gone. Mark hopes that Katerina still wants her caffeine fix. Katerina reckons that depends on whether Mark wants her up all night or not(!) Mark misses this come on and says that caffeine has never affected him like that. He chatters about tiredness and work for a bit and then Katerina says:
KATERINA: So, do you?
MARK: Do I what?
KATERINA: (hopefully) Want me to stay the night?
MARK: (shocked) What?!
KATERINA: Is it the wheelchair?
MARK: Katerina!
KATERINA: I know it's a bit of a hassle but it doesn't mean I-
MARK: (standing up) That's got nothing to do with it!
KATERINA: Are you sure?
Mark says that he likes Katerina but he doesn't want to take things further. Katerina wants to know why, and Mark points out again that he's in a relationship!
KATERINA: And what if you weren't?
MARK: Well, that'd be different. But the fact is, I love Annalise!
KATERINA: So, if she wasn't around, I'd have a chance. Is that what you're saying?
MARK: (after a pause) I'm sorry, Katerina, I'll have to ask you to leave.
KATERINA: If that's what you want, Mark.
She wheels herself out, watching him as she goes.
Number 24
Danni and Brett are packing their bags for school. Danni tells Brett to butt out. Brett says that yesterday's events weren't the smartest thing Danni has ever done.
BRETT: Look, Michael's cool and everything but you're getting yourself into heaps of trouble over this - and Mum is going to be watching you like a hawk.
DANNI: And what are you trying to say?
BRETT: Just that it's not worth the hassle. Can't you wait a while and then you two can get a place together?
DANNI: Oh, when?! In a few years?! Yeah, actually Brett, you're right(!) "Sorry, Michael, no sex 'til we're... 25, you don't mind, do you?" Nah!
BRETT: Well, he mightn't.
DANNI: Oh, and you're talking from your vast experience, are you?
BRETT: No, I'm just offering you some advice.
DANNI: Well, how about I give you some? Don't talk about things you don't understand, stud!
BRETT: (looking hurt) What?
DANNI: What? Are you trying to tell me you've done it now, are you?(!) Hmm?
BRETT: (looking very uncomfortable) Well, I-I-I-I-I...
DANNI: Yeah, right, Brett(!)
Danni leaves. Brett unhappily follows.
Ramsay Street
Brett walks down the driveway of Number 24. A taxi with Rick in pulls into Ramsay Street, past Cody, Michael and Danni and stops outside Number 30.
CODY: Charming. I wonder what he's been up to all night.
Michael is chatting to Danni about Doug not having dropped them in it over stealing his homebrew. Michael thinks that they need to be super careful.
RICK: Hey, sportsfans!
MICHAEL: Had a big night, mate?
RICK: Yeah, yeah. G'day, Codes.
Cody looks at him disdainfully and walks off.
RICK: What's her problem?
MICHAEL: Mate, that's what you call the cold shoulder.
RICK: Talk about jumping to conclusions.
DANNI: Oh, for sure. Just because you go out with a girl and don't get home until after breakfast...
RICK: Oh, fair enough, I guess. Good point. (he chuckles)
MICHAEL: Well, people can get the wrong impression sometimes, can't they? (he looks pointedly at Danni)
Danni and Michael walk off hand-in-hand. Rick goes into his house, but Brett follows him, asking for a chat.
Number 30
Brett is stumbling over his words.
BRETT: It's not that I don't know what to do or anything. It's just, well, a matter of confidence, I guess.
RICK: It is?
BRETT: Yeah. I think, well, yes, I want to do this but I don't know how to go about it and I was wondering...how do you do it?
Rick seems baffled by what Brett's going on about, but Brett is ecstatic when he thinks that Rick's agreed to give him some pointers. Brett is relieved, as he thought Rick might laugh at him.
RICK: (utterly bemused) Brett.
BRETT: What?
RICK: What are you talking about?!
BRETT: You don't know?
RICK: Do you want to play charades or something? I don't know, what?
Eventually, Brett musters up the courage to say:
BRETT: I'm a virgin.
RICK: You're a what?!
Brett gets upset and tries to leave. Rick gets him to sit back down and tells him that it's no big deal. Brett is quite upset but Rick manages to get out of him that he's ok meeting girls, it's just the next step.
RICK: We'll hit the clubs tonight. We'll find some action.
BRETT: Tonight?
RICK: Yeah, what's wrong with that?
BRETT: Nothing, I just didn't expect it to be so soon.
RICK: Oh, mate, mate - it's never too soon!
BRETT: Can we wait until the weekend, maybe? It's just a school night and I don't usually go out on-
RICK: (interrupting) Brett. You've asked for my help - you're going to get it. Tonight. You. And me. And the babes. We're set! Hahahahah!
Brett doesn't look quite as pleased at the prospect as Rick does!
Erinsborough High - corridor
Michael and Danni are snogging by the lockers. Michael has to leave. Danni says she hates not being in all his classes - she hates being separated from him.
MICHAEL: (grinning) I don't think they'll let you into boys PE class, somehow! And I better go if I don't want extra push-ups!
He leaves but Danni calls him back. She wonders if he still wants to date her with all of the hassle they'll get from Cheryl and Lou. He says he does - it'll just be a bit more difficult. He kisses her again, and in the background, Cody and Brett watch. Michael tells Danni that he has an idea...
We move to Brett and Cody. Cody says Michael and Danni look serious about something. Brett mentions that Vince Roland is off on long service leave. Cody is stoked that she doesn't have to go to his meetings any more. Brett says that the replacement might not be much better - they're getting Mrs Teschendorff, who is West Waratah Tech's old principal. Apparently the kids from there are spewing, as she's even worse than Roland was!
CODY: No-one's worse than Roland! ...what's her policy on pashing on in the corridors?
We cut back to Michael and Danni who are still making out.
Waterhole
Mark is anxiously waiting. Eventually, Katerina shows up. She enthuses about getting some food and starts chatting about publicity brochures. Mark says that he can't take the job with the paralympians. Katerina is shocked, but Mark thinks that they can't get too close.
KATERINA: You don't trust yourself?
Mark says that working with her, knowing how she feels, would only make things complicated. Katerina apologises for the previous night and says she had no right to make moves on a taken man. Mark admits that he was flattered. Katerina apologises for mixing business with pleasure, and wishes that the paralympians didn't have to lose him.
KATERINA: Annalise is a lovely girl and there's no way I'd do anything to jeopardise your relationship.

Philip is setting out some chocolate bars when Lou walks in. Philip says that he's thinking of banning his kids from the chocolate - he always seems to replace more than he sells!
LOU: Kids. You just don't know what they get up to sometimes, do you?
PHILIP: (laughing) No. I keep telling Hannah that chocolate will give you nightmares, but she doesn't seem to believe me.
LOU: Do all your kids sleep well?
PHILIP: Yeah, yeah. Well, I hear Debbie up half the night - Year 12 will be the death of her if she keeps this study up. You got insomniacs over at your place?
LOU: Oh, no, no, no. No, nothing like that. Your Michael's a sound sleeper.
PHILIP: Yeah, that's right.
LOU: It's funny how some people can just drop off anywhere. I mean, me, me, I'm really fussy about my bed. Mind you, I couldn't sleep anywhere else. It's a great bed.
PHILIP: Yeah, I heard about all the gadgets you've got on it.
LOU: Yes, yeah. ...Michael tell you that, did he?
PHILIP: Mate, I don't seem to follow.
LOU: No, no, I don't suppose you would.
PHILIP: What, what? Tell me what?
LOU: That I caught him sleeping in my bed. In my robe. With my stepdaughter. And I'm not very happy about that, Phil.
Philip looks surprised!
Number 24
Cheryl and Danni are locked in discussion. In the background, Brett freshens his breath with some mouthspray and sneaks out of the door. Cheryl is talking Danni into going on the pill, but Danni refuses, saying that she doesn't want to take hormones and deal with the side-effects. Danni points out that there are other forms of contraception.
CHERYL: As long as you are protecting yourself against pregnancy and STDs.
Cheryl says she only wants best for Danni and although it must be weird for Danni to talk to her, she wants her to know that she can talk to her about anything. They hug.
Club - Outside
Rick, Kev and Brett are in the queue. Rick and Kev are pumped to be going in, but Brett's a bundle of nerves. Rick suggests he unbutton his top button - Brett does, but then buttons it back up as he feels uncomfortable.
Rick and Kev sail past the bouncers with ease, but Brett is stopped. Boris the bouncer(!) asks Brett for some ID, and Brett scrambles to get his student card.
BORIS: What sort of student card?
BRETT: Erinsborough High.
RICK: (putting his hand to his head) Uni! Uni!
BRETT: No. Erinsborough High.
RICK: (rolling his eyes at Kev) You're 18! Your licence. You've left your licence in your car again, Brett!
BRETT: (confused) I haven't got a car.
BORIS: Look, mate, you're wasting everyone's time.
The bouncer shoves Brett out of the line. Rick tells him to hang on, as he and Kev will come with him to another club but Brett tells him to stay without him. He runs off, embarrassed. Rick and Kev go back into the club.
Club - Inside
Rick grabs a girl to dance - Tammy - and it's soon obvious that he's pulled.
Number 26
Danni and Michael are sitting on the sofa in the dark, making out. Philip comes out of his bedroom and starts walking towards the kitchen. He doesn't notice the pair until Danni giggles and he turns on the light.
PHILIP: (wearily) I don't believe this.
MICHAEL: Dad, don't start.
PHILIP: Danni, I think you'd better go home. I don't think your mother or Lou would approve of this, do you?
DANNI: Um, no.
MICHAEL: DAD!
PHILIP: We'll talk in a minute!
Philip shows Danni out and slams the door (just in case everyone else in the house hasn't been woken up by the shouting, I assume). Michael leans belligerently against the column in the centre of room.
PHILIP: Lou came to see me today.
MICHAEL: Oh?
PHILIP: Even assuming you're taking the necessary precautions-
MICHAEL: (interrupting) As if I wouldn't!
PHILIP: -even assuming that! What on earth did you think you were doing with Danni on Lou and Cheryl's bed?
Michael gives him a look!
PHILIP: ...I'll rephrase that. What do you think gives you the right to invade other people's bedrooms?
MICHAEL: I don't want to talk about it.
PHILIP: Well, bad luck because we're going to.
MICHAEL: No! You never listen anyway! No-one understands!
PHILIP: Well, I'm listening now!
MICHAEL: Forget it.
Michael saunters off to his bedroom.
Ramsay Street
The next morning, Cody and Brett are walking to school. Brett is telling Cody about his exploits at the club the night before and how he wasn't going to start arguing with the bouncer. Cody can't believe Rick would even try to get Brett into a club - he doesn't look 18. Cody is surprised because nightclubs aren't really Brett's scene.
CODY: And on a school night, Brettles!
Brett says he'll have to spend lunchtime catching up on his work! Cody isn't impressed when she hears that Rick and Kev went on in without Brett. Brett says that Rick wanted to have a big night.
BRETT: And from what I heard, he did pretty well for himself.
CODY: (coldly) Meaning?
Brett stumbles over his words! Cody pushes him and Brett reveals that Rick pulled a girl. He tries to say that Kev could have got his facts wrong, but Cody is already storming across to Number 30.
Number 30
Rick answers the door. Cody starts ripping into Rick about his behaviour, saying that just because he's been hurt doesn't mean that he can take advantage of other people. Rick points out that they're taking advantage of him too. Rick thinks that Cody doesn't know what she's talking about.
CODY: Rick Sleazebag Alessi, that's what I'm talking about! What's happened to you?
Rick insists that he's not hurting anyone. Cody hopes that he's proud of himself, and says that given the way he's behaving, she doesn't want anything to do with him.
RICK: (laughing) Cool. See you later.
CODY: (looking upset) Yeah, see you.
She leaves. Rick shakes his head.
